Description

This five-day practical training is designed to strengthen the technical and analytical capabilities of Costing, FP&A, and Performance professionals working in manufacturing and industrial environments. The course provides participants with a practical, structured, and IFRS-aligned approach to industrial costing, inventory valuation, standard versus actual costing, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement. Through real-life industrial case studies, hands-on Excel models, and interactive exercises, participants will learn how to translate costing data into meaningful insights that support operational efficiency, working capital optimization, cost control, and profitability improvement.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand industrial and manufacturing cost structures, including direct, indirect, fixed, variable, and mixed costs.
  • Develop and manage standard and actual cost models.
  • Perform material, labor, and overhead variance analysis.
  • Analyze price, volume, mix, and yield variances and identify their root causes.
  • Identify key cost drivers and apply contribution margin concepts.
  • Apply IFRS principles to inventory valuation.
  • Perform NRV, Days on Hand (DOH), obsolescence, and inventory provisioning analysis.
  • Support budgeting, rolling forecasts, and performance reporting activities.
  • Analyze and improve working capital in manufacturing environments.
  • Build cost sheets, margin bridges, and EBITDA bridges for management reporting.
  • Use performance dashboards and KPIs to support Costing and FP&A activities.
  • Apply cost optimization and profitability improvement techniques.
  • Translate costing and performance information into insights that support operational and financial decision-making.
